Yes, with those tunes, it is understandable.

But, I ask you this: would you EVER skip a version of the Eleven?

Now, folks...well, okay...forget it. But, you do understand, right?

Seriously, for the early era, other than H2H, there just are not as many "ahem...lets skip this one!" IMHO...but, I dunno--maybe Dire and the 80s lovers do the same with "my" tunes?

That's the spirit...it must have been that great "Aug 6 vs Apr 29?" debate in which I musta listened to it over 100 times...seriously...

As Mando has said, one more "BaaabeeeEE!" and I may lose it.

Well yeah, but I still love that jam.

"Give it to me... I gotta have it."

You got that right; have to admit, it's worth the opening vocal most every time...truth is, it's another of those "she that must be obeyed" or however it goes--it's the wife that really gets after me about that opening!

Skip an Eleven? Tarring and feathering would be too good for such miscreants. Where would it end up? Skipping New Potato Cabooses? The mind boggles.

Well, one is entitled to be in different moods at different times. But I'm not *tired* of The Eleven in general, as I'm kind of feeling I've had my fill of El Paso and Mexicali for awhile. I do skip around in a show depending on what I'm doing while I'm listening to it - I'm often listening at work and sometimes it is just too intense. More often, though, I get ticked off because I can't listen to a whole show in a day - I never get to the second set because of interruptions/meetings/phone calls/irritating co-workers. Damn job!! ( just a joke, really I love my job).

Yes, you can certainly listen to too much Dead. That is why the Lord created the Jerry Garcia Band.

In all seriousness I have to admit that it's a very rare occasion indeed when I'll sit down to listen to a whole show these days. I'll just cherry pick a few GD tracks to go along with the huge backlog of other things I think I ought to be listening to, watching, reading, and (whisper it) working on...

Oh yeah--it's always okay to listen however you want to, of course...but, I guess what I am getting at is that when I was a true blue mid 70s fan, back in the late 70s or so, I would defn skip any number of tunes...like (sorry, Rob!), El Paso...but, now that I am an early era sort, I find that other than H2H (MJ? Sing it with me: "Baaaabbbeeeeeeee!..."), I don't find that I can ever skip an Eleven, or StSt, or NPCab...might just be me though.

What about feedback huh Tell? You going to tell me you dont skip that one?
To be fair when putting on the era you like I alwasy consider it as a whole you know so therefore skipping is unescessary. Now a 74 on have more songs so i might be inclined to skip a song or two especially considering that Bobs been known to overplay the hell out of many a song.
